Feeling festive? Dress your pet… and dress yourself… flip flops, sunglasses and floppy hats will help to set the scene at the 2012 “Summer Beach Party” Pet Parade in Downtown Tecumseh. The 9th Annual Pet Parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 am in Downtown Tecumseh. The parade will begin at the corner of Pearl Street and Chicago Blvd., and continue down to Adams Park next to City Hall.Use your imagination and have fun dressing your favorite pet in “Summer Beach Party” themed attire. Dogs, cats, bunnies and an occasional reptile have dressed in “theme” and attended this family friendly fun-filled event. Special “Judge’s Choice Awards” will be presented for different categories after the parade at Adams Park. Great prizes have been donated by Red Mill Pet Supply, Bad Hair Day? and Companion Animal Clinic. Dress up your pet and who knows… you may be the winner of one of these very exciting pet prizes, but rest assured no child leaves empty handed. You may preregister at Red Mill Pet Supply, Companion Animal Clinic, Tecumseh Parks & Recreation and the Tecumseh District Library. We ask that everyone bring a bag or can of pet food which will be donated to help fed local pets in need. The event is sponsored by the Tecumseh Lions Club. Tecumseh’s Annual Sidewalk Market Days are scheduled for July 20th and 21st from 10 am – 5 pm. Each day merchants will be offering great bargains and sales on merchandise either inside or outside of their stores.
