The staff of the LEDC provides consultation and research to existing and future businesses and organizations in Lenawee County.

• Location assistance - The LEDC staff will help with finding a facility or property for your business by coordinating with real estate brokers and site selectors.

• The LEDC works with local partners - educational entities, community organization, workforce development organizations, state officials and local municipalities to create client-specific incentive packages.

• The LEDC works with the Buy Michigan First program (State of Michigan contracts) and Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) for Government Contracts, and will assist your business with maximizing the benefits of these programs.

  • Under MCL 389.161 - 389.166, employers can obtain training for new employees hired for new jobs under the Michigan New Jobs Training Program. Designed as an economic development incentive, the MNJTP authorizes community colleges to issue debt on behalf of employers that are creating new jobs and/or expanding operations in Michigan for the purpose of funding a variety of training and employee development needs for those new positions.

    Since 1991, our full-time consulting staff has provided training and implementation assistance to a wide variety of industry sectors. Our expertise is provided on a fee for service basis and we frequently assist businesses in applying for federal and state funds to supplement our fees.

  • From MI-SBTDC: The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development CenterTM (MI-SBTDCTM) enhances Michigan's economic well-being by providing counseling, training, research and advocacy for new ventures, existing small businesses and innovative technology companies. With offices statewide, the MI-SBTDC positively impacts the economy by strengthening existing companies, creating new jobs, retaining existing jobs, and assisting companies in defining their path to success.
