The City of Adrian, Jackson Community College, Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), Adrian Area Chamber/Chamber Alliance and the Lenawee Economic Development Corporation are working with other community partners to bring this presentation to Lenawee County.

Join us for a presentation to find out how 2 young entrepreneurs took action in Detroit and seized opportunities to clean up blighted neighborhoods and capitalize on business opportunities.

Learn how they did it, and their thoughts on how Lenawee County can do the same!

About the Presenters:

Phil Cooley is part owner of Slows Bar B Q and General Contractor with O'Connor Development. He serves on the board of Architectural Salvage Warehouse in Detroit, Greening of Detroit, Roosevelt Park Conservancy, Center for Community Based Enterprise, New Detroit and the Heidelberg Project. He also co-chairs the Mayor's Advisory Task Force for the Detroit Works project and lives in Detroit.

Sean Mann is one of Michigan's leading advocates for cities and urban areas. He currently leads the "Let's Save Michigan" campaign. He served as policy advisor on transportation and local government at the Michigan House of Representatives, where he played a key role in developing a light rail system in Detroit. Sean lived in England for several years where he worked at the House of Commons. He currently resides in Detroit's historic Hubbard Farms neighborhood, where he lives in a once abandoned funeral home he is restoring. He works for the Michigan Municipal League and is a board member of the Clark Park Coalition.
