From the Croswell Website: The Croswell (est. 1866) is the oldest continuously operating theatre in Michigan and the third oldest in the United States. We are a non-profit, 501 (c) (3), organization with a mission to "promote and perpetuate the arts" within SE Michigan, NW Ohio and NE Indiana. We proudly offer opportunities (both on stage and off) for artistic growth and expression to our community members while continuing our long-lived tradition of excellent theatre.
From ASO's Website: Members of the orchestra are professional musicians active in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. These musicians perform with other professional orchestras, ballets, and opera companies. Many teach music in the region, in private studios, colleges, universities, and public schools.
The orchestra regularly collaborates with extraordinary soloists, including prize-winners of the Naumburg, Leeds, and Tchaikovsky competitions. ASO guest artists have appeared with internationally-known orchestras in venues ranging from New York's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to Vienna's Musikverein. Recent ASO soloists have appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Boston Pops, as well as other prestigious orchestras around the world.
From the Hidden Lake Gardens Website:
Hidden Lake Gardens is owned and operated by Michigan State University under the division of Land Management, but supported through admission fees, endowments, gifts and the "Friends of Hidden Lake Gardens" membership program. The Gardens is open 362 days of the year with an admission fee of $3 per person. Guided tours, requested at least two weeks in advance, are available at no additional charge. In addition to more than 6 miles of one-way paved drives, there are 5 miles of hiking trails to allow the visitor a closer look at the beauty the Gardens provides.
The website features links on Lakes, Camping, Scenic Roads and Trails. In addition, an interactive Google Map helps visitors pinpoint key recreational activities, providing directions and additional information on each location.
From the MIS Website: Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It's the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.
Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich., boasts a proud, 42-year history of hosting America's best racing action on its 1,400-plus acres in the scenic Irish Hills. With 18 degree banking and 73-foot wide sweeping turns, Michigan International Speedway provides drivers with three and four grooves to run around the two-mile speedway.
When Michigan International Speedway opened in 1968, the 12,000-seat center grandstand stood overlooking the new two-mile oval, a symbol of a new era for the Irish Hills area.
Today, the speedway seats 119,500 and home to the largest, single-day paid admission sporting event in the state.
From the TCA website: The Tecumseh Center for the Arts was an anonymous gift to our community in 1981. The house seats 572 guests, and no matter where you sit, you have a full view of the stage. Of course our "old timers" have their favorite seats, but will also comment that there is not a bad seat in the house.
From the website: Our murder mystery dinner train in Blissfield, Michigan is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour fine dining and entertaining experience aboard a moving train. The train departs from Blissfield every Saturday and selected Fridays and Sundays.
As the train makes a leisurely 12 mile round trip through the countryside you are served a wonderful five course meal all the while being entertained by our troupe of actors and actresses performing a comical interactive murder mystery. The actors actually ask a passenger to "volunteer" at the beginning of the trip to be their victim. The show is more of a comedy versus a drama and the best way to describe the experience is that it is much like being in the front row at a comedy club, where you are likely to be involved in the show. The show is rated PG-13 and would be considered adult oriented humor.
All tables seat four guests and are elegantly appointed with white linens, crystal and china. We may combine couples into a table of 4, according to traditional railroad dining car practice.
